☆　What is chiropractic?

Chiropractic (Greek; treatment by hand) arose as a separate profession in the United States in the 1890's. It is a system of therapy which holds that disease results from a lack of normal nerve function and which employs manipulation and body adjustment. Today it is the third largest primary health care profession in the western world behind medicine and dentistry.
It is regrettable that the health insurance is not applied in Japan but there are companies by which the trouble insurance such as the traffic accidents doesn't admit chiropractic though it is taken as a medical practice in the United States etc. , and various insurances are applied. It introduces oneself in courses of only several days or several hours as chiropractor, and a lot of places where the signboard of chiropractic hangs exist, too. Chiropractic is a technological employment. Chiropractor to which the therapeutic gain is not clumsily raised either cannot be spurned.

After completing a premedical type college preparation, I entered a six year professional program. While there were many similarities to medical school, such as anatomy, physiology, biochemistry and pathology, I had a concentrated curriculum in orthopedics, neurology, radiology, techniques of manipulation and the appropriate use of physical therapy modalities. During the last two years of the program, I interned have many patient contact hours perfecting their clinic skills in different diagnosis, physical examinations, manipulation, physical therapy and patient education.


☆　What will happen when I visit

Initially, you will complete a questionnaire, providing information on your symptoms, including cause, location, duration, as well as other health questions. We will then complete a history and exam. We will then provide treatment, which consists of spinal manipulation and physical therapy modalities (heat, ice, etc.). You will be given home instructions on exercise and postural improvement. We will dictate a report to your medical doctor. This is an important step because it assures that all of your health providers are informed of your status and can better coordinate your health care needs.
